A space to find steadiness through serious illness
The Here and Now Sessions
When Illness Becomes Part of Your Story
Has serious illness changed the way you experience daily life?
Has it changed your sense of time, your relationships, or even how you see yourself?
Do you sometimes wish for a quiet space where you don't have to explain or manage—where you can simply be with whatever is arising?
The Here and Now Sessions offer a vital pause—a space where you can exhale, step out of the weight of expectation, and be met with quiet understanding. Whether you are living with illness or walking alongside someone who is, these sessions bring steady companionship and gentle ways to navigate this landscape.
This Work Was Born From Absence
When my partner became seriously ill, we quickly realized that medicine could address the disease but not the disorientation. Tests, treatments and appointments filled our calendar, but nothing addressed the deeper question: how do we find ourselves when everything familiar has vanished?
The relentless focus on treatment left little room for what was surfacing beneath it. Our priorities shifted, our roles changed, and the life we once knew felt impossibly distant.
The Here and Now Sessions were born from this absence—creating a sanctuary where what feels unspoken can emerge, where disorientation is acknowledged, and where we can begin to find ourselves again within a story we never chose.
The Power of Small Moments
Through my own experience of loss and change, I discovered that healing often lives in the smallest details—feeling the weight lift from my shoulders during a quiet moment, finding unexpected comfort in a familiar object, or the relief of being truly heard without needing to explain.
Our work together honours these tiny instances of respite—small yet steady moments that can sustain us when everything else feels overwhelming. This is the heart of contemplative care—a quiet practice of noticing, allowing, and making space for what supports us.
These moments don’t change what we’re carrying—but they can be something to rest into when everything else feels uncertain.
The Here and Now Sessions offer a gentle space to navigate the realities of illness—whether your own or a loved one’s
Instead of:
Life shaped by appointments and symptoms
Feeling like you have to manage or suppress difficult emotions
Losing connection with what once gave life meaning
Navigating this terrain alone
Find:
A rhythm beyond illness—where the whole of you has space to be
Ways to be with fear, grief, or anger without being overwhelmed
Small sources of nourishment that sustain even now
Compassionate companionship with no agenda to fix or change
A 12 Week Journey
12 weekly sessions provide a thoughtfully paced container, allowing integration between our time together. This journey offers enough depth to establish practices that sustain beyond our work.
We move at your pace, with gentle flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and energy levels.
Because these sessions are deeply personal, I only take a small number of clients each season to ensure full presence and support.

Is This Right for Me?
If you’re unsure whether these sessions are right for you, here’s what others have wondered before beginning…
-
I don't know anything about meditation or contemplative practices.
These sessions don't require any previous experience. We begin exactly where you are, with what feels accessible and supportive for your unique situation. While I draw from contemplative traditions, our sessions aren't focussed on meditation techniques unless that's something you're specifically interested in exploring. Instead, we'll discover simple, practical ways to find moments of ease that resonate with you personally.
-
I worry about committing to 12 weeks when my health is unpredictable.
The 12-week journey is designed as a steady and supportive container—not rigid, but structured enough to offer depth, spaciousness, and continuity. This rhythm allows for gentle exploration, noticing patterns, and cultivating what feels most resourcing for you.
While sessions can flex in length and focus to honour your energy, the full 12 weeks provide a cohesive experience that isn’t possible with scattered individual sessions.

I'm not sure I can justify investing in this kind of support for myself right now.
When facing serious illness—whether your own or as a caregiver—it's easy to direct all resources toward medical care and daily survival. Yet creating space for steadiness and presence is not a luxury—it's a form of nourishment in difficult times. These sessions aren't about taking away from what's needed elsewhere; they're about resourcing you, so you can meet this time with greater ease.
-
I'm not sure I have the capacity to add one more thing to my life at this time.
Unlike many appointments that demand your energy, these sessions are designed to resource rather than deplete you. There's no homework, nothing to achieve, and no way to "do it wrong”.

FAQs

Each session is a space to meet whatever is most present for you in the here and now. There’s no preparation needed—just a gentle unfolding of what feels most alive in that moment. Whether through conversation, quiet reflection, or simple practices, we move with what arises, allowing space for whatever is needed.

Sessions primarily take place via secure video call, which allows us to create a meaningful connection regardless of location. For those with specific needs or circumstances, telephone sessions are available as an alternative. While I occasionally offer in-person sessions within central London, these are limited and include an additional fee to cover travel and time. During our initial conversation, we'll discuss which format will best support your particular situation.
-
I understand that illness is unpredictable. I ask for as much notice as possible for rescheduling, and will always do my best to accommodate changes when they're needed.
-
While our sessions may feel therapeutic, this is not therapy. These sessions provide space to be with what is, rather than trying to fix or change it. If therapy is desired, I can recommend qualified practitioners who specialise in supporting people through illness.
-
These sessions complement your medical care by supporting you beyond the clinical aspects of illness. They never replace or interfere with medical treatment, but rather provide a different kind of nourishment—one focussed on your inner experience during this time.
-
The 12-week journey provides a thoughtfully designed container with enough depth to establish practices that can sustain you moving forward. At the end of our time, we'll discuss what feels right for you—whether that's continuing with regular sessions, shifting to occasional check-ins, or knowing you can always return when you need additional support. Our relationship doesn't have to end after 12 weeks; I'm here to support your evolving needs in whatever way serves you best.

My approach draws from training as a Soul Midwife (end of life companion) and contemplative care practitioner, complemented by my volunteer work providing illness companionship through Macmillan and end of life support through Marie Curie. My background as a Sivananda-certified Yoga teacher (200 hours) and my ongoing studies with the New York Zen Center's Contemplative Care Programme inform my work. While I draw wisdom from both Buddhist and Yogic contemplative traditions, my approach is entirely non-religious and accessible to people of all beliefs or none.

Payment can be made in full or spread across three monthly instalments. If you choose instalments, I'll provide straightforward instructions after our initial conversation.
